The Basics of Within

Why do I meditate? The answer is simple, really. 1. There’s a strong desire to Rest (YouTube // SoundsTrue). 2. To bring clarity. Meditation provides the opportunity to experience Presence; not of a person, place, or thing, but rather just what is… in the moment. No nouns, no verbs, just Be. Is there actually more coherence than there otherwise would have been? Only a comparison to an alternate version of myself who hasn’t meditated daily could reveal that answer. Midsommar

🇸🇪 Glad midsommar! Yesterday, I changed locations, again. The plan to stay put for a couple of months had to be revised due to unforeseen circumstances. That’s life. But where I am now is clearly a happy place for me. This morning’s resting heart rate was as low as I’ve seen it (I measured twice!), and HRV (heart rate variability) was nicely high. Consistency

Consistency

That hurt. …And I loved it! After two months of fluctuation it’s time to dig in again and get some solid, steady training done. Today, I FINALLY got back on a trainer! It’s been fabulous to live in a splendorous (new) location, journey to two races, build new friendships, and revisit an intriguing city. But between unstable weather, a few body tissue issues, recovery time, and travel days I’ve become increasingly uneasy with the lack of consistency.
