There’s an increasing amount of research showing that spending time in nature is good for our health, for a variety of reasons. (Of course, studies aren’t necessarily needed since personal experience makes this clear as well.) Incredibly, studies also show that just looking at photos of greenery and nature can help lower stress.

This picture was taken during my ‘long ride’ yesterday—on a very blustery autumn day. Time in nature helps me reconnect to my body and senses, to other people, and to the environment around me. It’s one of the reasons that I love ultra-endurance training. (And who knows what wildlife will appear: Today, on my run, I saw—and heard!—a moose and her calf.)
Years ago I remember sitting in satsang in a forest setting. The sliding doors and all the windows were open, letting in fresh air. Suddenly, it was like I heard the birds singing for the first time in my life. Since that day their serenades touch, even soothe, me deeply. There were no songs yesterday in the 10 m/s gale, but there was plenty of fresh air, sunshine, and beautiful nature.
Perhaps what I often experience in nature is Universal Love, feeling God’s* Presence in all creation.
The Cosmic Vibration is reaffirming, through me, its own reality. Cosmic love, through me, is yearning for God’s love. Cosmic joy, through me, is rejoicing in our Infinite Beloved.

Soulful Sojourn: Belief – Gratitude – Living
My guiding principle in life is the invitation to show up each and every moment to live life. With confidence and understanding we develop a structure to improve fitness and choose a lifestyle that includes training, mindset, and nutrition. The intention is to discover, appreciate and express the process of living. I call this my Soulful Sojourn.
